11:57 am - What movie was it?

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

There was some college movie that came out back in the '80s, I think, where there was a running gag about one of the classes: in an early scene, we see that one student has decided to skip class, and left a cassette stereo in his/her chair to record the lecture. Each time a scene takes place in this classroom, more and more students are leaving stereos to record the lecture, until finally the entire class consists of nothing but stereos in chairs -- including the teacher's chair, which holds a stereo playing the lecture!

Anybody remember what movie that was? I'm thinking maybe "Real Genius", but not sure.

So now I'll always remember you with badly outdated hair.

Of course, you may think it's better than receding hair.

And in real life the Pentagon is still trying to make that airborne laser scheme work. Well, OK, they want to use it to shoot down warheads instead of vaporize foreign leaders, but still...

It has actually been test fired successfully - it does work. The designation of the operational planes are YAL-1. It's built into a 747 airframe though, not a B1.

Still unsure if it would pop corn at a distance instead of just scorching it though :)

Yup! It was during one of the musical montages, but I can't remember which one. So much good music in that soundtrack. n.n

Of course, the urban legend was around long before the movie was. :)

Of the tape player, I mean. Not the giant laser.
