Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I've drawn some cartoons!

Here's a two-pager about KT and Teleia trying to find a parking place at the mall (caution, slightly NSFW):
Mall parking, page 1
Mall parking, page 2

Here's a full-color pic of Teleia about to enter the mall and pausing to read the rules on the door, which because of the turbulent history of relations between the mall and its customers, have had to go through several revisions in the past few years (caution, VERY NSFW):
Welcome to Mucklethorpe Mall, page 1 of 1.

Any room on 'Teleia's side' for future battles against mall management? I love to harass Radio Shack veterans. XD

I dunno, but I can think of some things I'd love to see Teleia do to those @#$%^&*! Bank of America ATMs at the Galleria, the ones that go DING... DING... DING every time someone uses them, and often keep on dinging away to themselves after the customer walks away. Gaaaah!!

Does it DING when someone has left their card in or something? That's the only time I've seen ATMs here do that. I've never heard what yo describe before, and I've worked for NCR for the past nearly eight years (NCR makes and repairs buncho things like ATMs, cash registers, self checkouts, etc., etc. I know for a fact Bank of America is one of our customers (and I've dealt with more Bank of America machines probably than your entire friends list has encountered in their lives, and I'm Canadian!), including more than likely the one in the Galleria (although I've never been responsible for the Houston area, though I know the guy that is) and haven't once heard of that feature. If it is, as I started by saying, to remind a person that they left their card in, well that's a good feature (it's even helped me personally once or twice). If it's there just so that the machine can go "Hey, listen everyone, I can go DING!" then it's truly a WTF?

I often see the machines sitting there after someone's used them, displaying the message "Would you like another transaction? (Yes) (No)" and going DING... DING... DING... for what seems like half a minute, with nobody there to press (No) and make it stop. And if I'm sitting nearby, and I look up and see it's doing that, and I try to get up and press (No) to make it shut up, it invariably stops just before I get to it.

And if you try to feed it a card it doesn't recognize, it displays a long-winded message about how it could not read your card, please try another card, or try contacting some company or try waving a dead chicken over the machine or whatever, and it goes DING DING DING DING DING for what seems like a full minute and there is NO WAY to make it shut up!

Strange that it would continue "talking" after you take your card out (unless it's one of those "swipe your card" machines, but all the ones I've encountered in Winnipeg are ones where you insert your card and don't give it back until you're absolutely done. I can't recall ever using a US ATM, but that's probably because there's no ATMs for my bank (Bank of Montreal) there. I'm guessing that it's configured to just swipe your card and it doesn't retain it the whole time, which is just asking for the above situation in my book.

Maybe for your birthday I'll dispatch a service technician to that machine to "repair" (read "disable") that feature. ;)

What do you think of ATMs that play a tune resembling the Woody Woodpecker theme? I find them slightly pleasant until I get the feeling they're jeering me.

I was sad enough to wonder if Mucklethorpe Mall was a real place.

Apparently not...but less than 24 hours on, Google has heard of it.

More disturbing was Google's suggested substitute: "Maplethorpe Mall". Maybe that's where Teleia goes for her Leather Battle Panties....

Teleia is kinder than I am. I would have simply tilted the offending vehicle up on its side in one of the two parking spaces.

See, I'm inclined to think that it's far more effective to have moved the thing intact. Clearly anything that could move it intact could also trash it, so it's a very diplomatic sort of threat.

Then again, that may only work for the sort of thinking people who wouldn't take up two spots in the first place.

Even better: If the offending vehicle is still there when ya leave, put it back where it was.

Turned 90 degrees...

But then it'll take up two spots again! Better to just leave it in that one parking spot... y'know, upside-down or something.

Upside down is good, too, though maybe not so hot from a property damage point of view. 90 degrees, though, gives 'em sommat to think about...

I must know where this mall is! And get security cam footage!

And I'm with you on the "muscular hyperendowment" thing as a non-turn on, especially on women (Women being turned on by hyper-muscular men don't strike me as odd, but seeing a hypermuscular woman is one of my few guaranteed turn-offs). I can't really see how anyone can be (although I have heard of men that are, I even personally know one or two, all are also weightlifters themselves), but, hey, if you are "not like there's anything wrong with that!"

That mall's logo looks a lot like San Francisco's Muni public transportation logo.
