12:24 pm - Road trip days 5-6: Ogden to Baker City to Seattle

Didja miss me? The Rodeway Inn in Baker City, Oregon, didn't have internet at all, and I got to Seattle late yesterday so I didn't have time to try to get online until now.

Uuuuugh. I started having soreness in my back and butt muscles, probably caused by that worn-out desk chair in Ogden and worsened by the car trip. It made the drive from Baker City to Seattle almost unbearable yesterday. It hurt to sit and to stand.

Staying in Baker City was fun, though; I shared a room with an old friend who was also on a road trip and passing through the area. We had dinner and breakfast (in that order).

The drive to Seattle was the most impressive, scenery-wise, on this whole trip. Damn, Washington's got some MOUNTAINS. Just wish I could have been in less pain and enjoyed them more, though. Oh, and when I reached Seattle I hit traffic congestion. But finally I made it to Jon's house, where I decided to stop before continuing to the hotel. There I found... that Jon was at the hotel with Timmo, waiting for me. So I drove to the hotel, checked in, and met Jon and Timmo. We went to a Japanese restaurant called Mori's, and then back to Jon's house to watch "Alvin & the Chipmunks". They agreed with me on many points about the film, good and bad.

Then I returned here, conked out, woke up in the middle of the night, felt like crap, drank some water, went back to bed, conked out again, woke up this morning and felt better. My muscles are still sore, but hopefully they'll heal.

Damn straight Washington's got some mountains on her, wasn't the least bit surprised. (Course, I saw the Canadian Rockies on last year's trip before the American ones, but still wasn't surprised.) The thing that surprised me the most, mountain-wise, is the good mountain view Sprendan have from their house (I believe you've been there so you can concur), I was sad to leave just for that!
