Previous Entry Share Next Entry

Tried using my new CD burner today. Yaay, it works! Now I can listen to some of my favorite songs-from-various-sources in the car! My very first compilation contains:

1. GLaDOS (Ellen McLain) - Still Alive
2. Orleans - Still the One
3. Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds - Don't Pull Your Love
4. Hanson - MMMBop (what, I like it)
5. Peter Schilling - Major Tom
6. Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
7. Marcy Playground - Sex & Candy
8. The Moody Blues - Wildest Dreams
9. Klaus Nomi - The Nomi Song
10. Boston - More Than a Feeling
11. Rip Slyme - Funkastic
12. Die Ärzte - Hurra
13. O-Zone - Dragostea din Tei (what, I like it)
14. Ome Henk - Opblaaskrokodil
15. Seeed - Ding
16. Daler Mehndi - Tunak Tunak Tun
17. Origo - I Am An Astronaut
18. The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball
19. The Tremeloes - Silence is Golden
20. Annie Lennox - Walking on Broken Glass
21. The Motels - Suddenly Last Summer

Edit: Oh. Apparently there's also a version of "Still Alive" sung by Jonathan Coulton himself, but what I have is the game version, sung by Ellen McLain as the voice of GLaDOS.

I don't suppose you have a link to the version of the "Dragostea din tei" video that posts things like "feta cheese" for "fericia"?

The "Walking On Broken Glass" video is a classic. It's like Laurie is reprising his role as Prince George, kinda.

I believe the only cover on that list is Origo's "I Am An Astronaut", which is a techno cover of child singer Ricky Wilde's novelty record of the same title.

Wow, I"m surprised you've never been able to burn your own CDs yet! I guess now it's official, the last person has joined the club, everyone has a CD burner now. (And yes, that's the first thing I did with mine too. I love making mix tapes > CDs! I take great care in selecting what songs to go on and in what order (been thinking of making an LJ post on that subject soon).

The songs that I've heard of (most of the first half, almost none of the second half) are very cool, although I have none of them on any of my mix CDs (except "Eye of the Tiger", and I'm thinking of deleting it too make room for cooler songs in the wings), I do still like the songs even though I don't have them - gotta save something for the radio to play that I get excited about!

Funkastic! That takes me back... to like two years ago when I was obsessed with Animutations. Did you ever get into those? You seem like the sort who'd find those entertaining.

Yup! Those are fun. In fact, "Earth vs. Funk" is the reason that song is on the list.
