Tucson! - The online computery journal thingy of a turtle

Feb. 26th, 2008

06:32 pm - Tucson!

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

A week from tomorrow I'll be traveling to Tucson, AZ, to have dinner with Josh of The Comics Curmudgeon and Bob Weber Jr. of Slylock Fox Comics, and a bunch of Comics Curmudgeon readers!

Then on the way home, I'm planning to visit Carlsbad Caverns. (Yeah, seems his good ones are closed for the season.)

So I'll be away from home and most likely without internet access from March 5 to 11.

I was pondering your means of transport for a moment as I skimmed the last line. How would the turkle be traveling at Mach 5 to 11?

If you meet a creepy gray guy down there in one of the pools, muttering about his precious, turn around and immediately walk out of the caves.

D'oh! Then again, I suppose the guro fans would enjoy the whole pound of flesh deal. And now I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying not to think of that.

I'm surprised Weber agreed to this. I know he wasn't too mad about the spoof, but wouldn't it make for an awkward evening? He's not one of the syndicated cartoonists I've known to join the fun at CC.

Then again, I haven't been there for more than a year.

Once again you assume too much, Mr. Batley

Bob Weber Jr. is a good sport with a good sense of humor, and an all-round awesome guy. He's amused by the Comics Curmudgeon, and even went so far as to design a Cassandra Cat T-shirt exclusively for the blog readers, and as I understand it, he's been corresponding with Josh by e-mail.

Okay, but who's Mr. Batley (besides me, apparently)?

If I ever fulfill my fantasy of making a movie, I'll try to work your line in. You'll be in the credits; no worries.
