Oh, was there a game on or something?

I thought the commercials on Dad's TV looked a little weird. I saw a nighttime driver swerving to miss a deer, then swerving to miss Alice Cooper, then debating whether to swerve to miss Richard Simmons. Then I saw cavemen too stupid to use the wheel properly, carrying beer on it like a heavy stone pallet ("Wheel suck!") and then smashing a beer bottle with a rock ("Bottle opener suck!") Then I saw an ad for Wall-E, featuring Woody and Buzz Lightyear sitting on a couch eating popcorn and discussing the new character. That was pretty cute-tresting.

Super-wha?

There was an all-day Mythbusters marathon on the Discovery channel. The History channel ran all of the American Eats series. Animal Planet had the Puppy bowl (though I really only watched during commercials and for the Kitty Halftime Show)

Who needs football when you can watch stuff like this?

The *one* disadvantage of being Canadian

(Link)
Aargh. AARGH!

I was all set to post to KT how the one disadvantage of being Canadian is that I don't get to see the naf Super Bowl ads you Merricans do (whenever there's a show that's broadcast on a US channel but simulcast on a Canadian network, the Canadian feed is the one viewed no matter which network your dial is set to, so you get the Canadian ads. Therefore we didn't get the ads Fox was running (and I don't think the Canadian network had many special ads, I'm not a football fan, only tuned in occassionally to see who was winning, but the times that I hit an ad it looked normal.)

And then I read your post. An all day Mythbusters marathon? Gah! Discovery Channel Canada ) had an all-day "Dirty Jobs" marathon, so both my regular Sunday shows (Simpsons and Mythbusters) were nowhere to be found yesterday.

The consolation prize was that Saturday's Mythbusters, when they show a repeat ep, was a "new to me" ep (Episode 45: Shredded Plane / Fire Without Matches) that I must've missed last time it ran.)

There was this great commercial where a car was about to run over an anthorpomorphic computer-animated squirrel, and all the forest animals were screaming, but it missed. =:( I think they were trying to show that the car had good steering or something.

It was a commercial for Bridgestone (or Bridgstone?) tires.

I thought you might mention a Doritos ad in which a guy uses a chip for bait in a mousetrap, sits eating the rest while waiting to watch a mouse fall for it, and then gets beat up by a mouse fursuiter who crashes through the wall.
