As promised, here's the first prize for hartree in the element contest I had a few weeks ago: Hartree Fox finally comes to terms with the Copenhagen interpretation.

The secret to simulating chalk is to write small with a dull pencil (and then for good measure, smudge it a bit), and then scan it really big and inverse it.

Thanks! 'Course, I cribbed all that from Wikipedia. Ooo but the slogan on the cup is taken from a needlepoint wall hanging my mom made for my dad, who's a nuclear physics professor at Rice.

on his weekly podcast, musician George Hrab (geologicpodcast.com) has been musically working his way through the periodic table. he's been making little humorous songs for each element. he's about half way through.
