Oh yes, I now own the original art of two more Ozy & Millie strips:
Monday, September 11, 2006: Felicia's summer vacation
Friday, September 15, 2006: Experimental enough...

I'd previously bought, and now have framed and hung on the wall, the original art of this strip:
Wednesday, April 9, 2003: Felicia?

Huh. All three of these strips are about Felicia. That's pure coincidence. She's not even my favorite character or anything; I just like these strips because they're funny!

"Back off! I've got three comic strips that are all about a minor character for no particular reason, and I'm NOT afraid to use 'em!"

People are always surprised how big those are, but really it's common among comic strip artists who work in traditional media. The bigger you draw, the more it covers up your work's imperfections when you shrink it down. :)

Will Eisner worked at a 1/1 ratio, but he was pretty exceptional.

I was surprised by how big they were, but happy about it. I mean, artwork the actual printed size of a comic strip is a little small to be putting up on your walls.

Maybe up on the fridge with a couple of magnets... :}

BTW, you know what would be awesome? You, me and bluerain getting together in person. We could do fun stuff, we could sit and just chat... I totally want to do that someday with you guys.

Patrick McDonnell also works at a 1:1 ratio, a holdover from childhood. I guess it happens more often with simplicity.

And you can put in more detail without being as careful. I've been doing mine at 1⅓x what I used to do, and already I love how much better I'm able to make it look. :)

That was meant to say "...doing mine at 1⅓x what I used to do for only two weeks now, and..." Kinda changes the meaning a bit. @_@
