Is it just me, or does Steve always look ... feminine ... when he's being drawn (at least since Cars came out and you've been drawing Steve "Cars-style", he looks quite a lot like Sally!)

Speaking of Sally, we have a grand total of two Cars cars (remember my son loves cars? And Cars?), one is Sally, the other one always keeps getting lost so I can't remember which (it is lime green I beleive) - I noticed now you have the same Sally, but this was in your photos section, leading me to assume you got it in W. Memphis? (Couldn't tell, because your diary mention didn't mention buying Sally in W. Memphis)? If you got Sally there, then that actually means I had a car toy (courtesy McDonalds) before you! Wow!)

Nope, I had Sally before I made that fruitful trip to the W. Memphis Wal-Mart. Although I did get a duplicate Sally, because I wanted the Radiator Springs McQueen, which at that store was only available in a "Movie Moments" set with Sally.

Lime green, eh? Probably either Chick Hicks or Ramone. There are three diecast Ramones available, each in a different paint job as seen in the movie: purple, green, and yellow. (Yellow's the only one I don't have.)

I was looking at some of the photos..

That last one, the 'Big Buck' contest sign, reminded me of the old game show 'Press Your Luck'. The contestants would go into some sort of prayer-like 'No whammy, big bucks' request that got annoying, then yell 'Stop!' and hit the plunger to stop the 'spinner' on a space, hopefully one marked 'Big Bucks'.

This sign being in Arkansas, I figured the contest itself is related to bringing in big buck deer or whatever..but what if you combined the two ideas?

'Big Bucks! Here they come!' 'AAAAA!' *stampede*

Wait a minute. You're not a dragon on the Chinese Zodiac by my reckoning.

Try the, um, Korean Zodiac. Or the Vietnamese Zodiac or something. One of 'em.

Missouri Proposition 2 was on approving Stem Cell Research while forbidding cloning for purposes of such. It was wildly mis-interpreted as allowing cloning, and became a nation-wide issue. (This is the bit of policy that Michael J. Fox did his now famous political ad for, throwing his support behind pro-Prop2 candidate Claire McCaskill. She won, and Prop 2 passed.)

Given Missouri's status as one of the "swing" states in the Bible Belt--there's a strong liberal movement there--it was a heckuva fight.

Also: journals make foxishes go "yay". *nod*

Oh, and the [Name Forgotten] in one of your photo captions was the Programming Director, Chouette.

BTW, a theory or two as to why Missouri welcome centre wasn't until Mile 40:

Mile 40 is roughly where the Bootheel of Missouri ends and the state proper begins - ie that would have been the boundary if the bootheel wasn't tacked on in the 19th century. Also, being near the end of the bootheel, visitors from Kentucky and Tennessee would be coming over around that point.
