Welp, hosting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a valiant attempt to stave it off, but people are still making jokes about Cleveland. Their latest bid at gaining respect is to rename themselves "Cleverland". Think it'll work? Discuss.

They should just quietly point out that they're the only still-standing American city that contains a Hellmouth.

I suppose it's better than the name of a president best remembered for (1) having nonconsecutive terms and (2) being a bachelor. Maybe they could keep the pronunciation with "Cleaveland" and set up a Violent Psycho Hall of Fame. It'll be like the horror section of Madame Tussaud's, only less waxy.

can't they just say "hey, we're not Detroit"?

srsly, i went to college in Cleveland. yeah, the economy sucks a little worse than most places, but it's not so bad.

'course, i'm from Buffalo, and we're near the bottom of most categories too.

Yeah, the jokes I've heard about Cleveland are mainly that it's a boring place.

My brother lives there. It's not a horrible place, but it's been in slow decline like most of the Rust Belt and hasn't been able to reinvent itself much.
