Look around you.

Look around you.

Just look around you.

Have you worked out what we're looking for?

Correct.

The answer is...

Look Around You, Season 1, on American DVD, coming July 20.

Experiment 1: An experiment was carried out to preorder the DVD. First, the turtle clicks the "Preorder" button. Next, he clicks the "Checkout" button. A password field appears. He types in his Amazon password: P-A-S-S-W-O-R-D. Write that down in your copybook now. Then he reviews the order and payment details to make sure they are correct, and finally, he clicks the "Place order" button. Then he goes outside to stand next to the mailbox for a month or so, to wait for the arrival of the DVD within a Fielding-Chavannes air-cushioned mailer. Good luck, turtle. Good lurtle.

Wow, that was a long time in coming. I've never understood why it takes so long to get Region 1 versions of British shows.

I didn't think it was that bad, but season 2 was certainly uneven, and it was pretty much a completely different show (although clearly inhabiting the same bizarre alternate universe.)

I think the two episodes most worth seeing from season 2 are "Computers" and "Music 2000."

If it's anything like the UK release of the disc, it will feature a double-length module about Calcium (the pilot episode), the full music video for Little Mouse, and a very large bunch of mock pages from Ceefax (which, given Teletext services really didn't take off in America won't really travel in terms of nostalgia, but are quite, quite surreal)

Had my copy of the disc for years - still a favourite.

Blants.

According to TV Shows On DVD, it sounds like the US version will be mirroring the UK R2 release: Calcium extra episode, Little Mouse music video, Ceefax pages, cast/director commentary, play at home quiz, and extra music.

Gentlemens:

Kindly do not disparage Look Around You S2, a factor disallowed by certain British bills (Certain British Bills! I thought you were dead -- Ed.) S1 reflected the certain Britishnesses of schools' programming, hence such events impenetrable to F Colonial viewers as the countdown clock and merry voiceovers; S2 the certain Britishnessesments of Tomorrow's World, a particular programme foreshadowing amazing events of the space world of (tomorrow), precisely none of which came about. IF you find S2 unfunny, you are lacking in HEART. HEART, I tells you.

PS. HEART.

PPS. "Are you a spy?" "Nein, nein, I'm not a spy -- I'm a shepherd." PLEASE SUPPLY YOUR OWN PUNCHLINE, PRICE 2d.

PPPS. I* (heart) Ceefax, aka the Beeb Beeb See's Teletext-type elements.
