This video is incredible. I'd hate to be in the room with all that heavy machinery moving around, but it makes for a great video!

I count 8 TVs in the pile. Which means... oh, all those poor pianos.

I get the impression they used one piano over and over. Look how busted it is!

By the look of it, they used whatever was left of the same piano for several takes. In the background, there is a second piano in too many pieces to reuse.

Since the TV bit is more than two-thirds of the way through, there's no telling how many more takes there were that didn't get that far.

It took over 60 takes, according to this Wired article.

Or, they used weighted stand-ins for the expensive breaking items (TV/piano) until the final take... then subtle differences in the weights meant they still needed a few extra takes to get it JUST perfect.

That's been making the rounds quickly. Blows the treadmills away.

BTW, I didn't know you could make the YouTube window that big in LJ.

Yup! On the video's page on YouTube, if you select the embed text (and you've got javascript allowed for the site), it brings up an option panel below which allows you to choose the widget size, outline color, and some extra settings such as whether to show related videos.

Well, we have this year's music video awards winner. For probably the whole decade. Let's see Kanye try and put this down.
