Saw The Fantastic Mr. Fox today. It was fun! Sort of like a furry "Ocean's 11" (disclaimer: I haven't actually seen "Ocean's 11").

I'll see your furry "Mildred Pierce" and raise you two furry "Of Human Bondage"s.

The comparison that came to mind for me was "The Italian Job," but the same basic idea.

One of the things I found remarkable was the attention to detail, especially in the sets and backdrops. I'm looking forward to the DVD so I can take a longer look at some of them.

Yeah! I kept wanting to read the text every time they showed a closeup of the Gazette.

Yeah. And some of the radio gear in Farmer Bean's trailer looked pretty familiar...I'm thinking all of those miniatures are probably based on real equipment, and I want to see if I can figure out what.

Oh, and I find myself wondering whether there are any references to other Wes Anderson movies snuck in. I, um, wouldn't know, not having seen any other Wes Anderson films...

I do know there was a Hammarlund HQ-170 or 180 in his radio setup, though before I could work out the others, he smashed them all :P

I thought that looked like a Hammarlund, although I couldn't place the exact model. There was something else that looked like it might be a linear, too.

I'm certainly going back again, I'll try to pay more attention to the equipment ^_^
Glad to know others who love old radios equipment *tailwags*

Kevin Pease (ceruleanst) called it the furry movie of the decade. My preference is Ratatouille. What would you give that honor?
