I hear there are protests against gay marriage bans in every major city tomorrow (Saturday). There's one planned here in Houston. I'd gladly go, except for one thing:

I'm preparing to go on a road trip on Tuesday. I don't want to have to cancel my trip to MFF if some violent jerk shows up and decides to put a bunch of people in the hospital.

Which is a pity, as I've just thought of a good slogan to put on a sign if I were going: "ANY KIND OF LOVE IS ALL RIGHT"... nicked from XTC's song "The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead", of course.

You should go - if those people can intimidate you, they've won.

And yes, they are terrorists if they threaten violence.

o.O Do you really think things can get THAT crazy? (Keep in mind, I live in the Great Lakes region, so I have no idea how things work in Texas regarding matters like this.)

I can just see the news coverage...

"He died grinning on live TV
Hanging there he looked a lot like you
(and an awful lot like me)."

No, it's just a risk assessment strategy of mine. See my next post.

If you're that worried, you can show up in a full kevlar suit. I think I have one in your size.

No, see, that would take even MORE effort.
