I don't believe that's a prairie dog, the ears don't look right and I've never heard one sound like that before.

#5-#7 and #9 are what I've heard my dogs sound like. That's the angry chirp sound.

I was unable to find really good examples of the jump-yip or all-clear sound but here's some videos that feature it.

Someday I'll have to record one of mine doing it.

[Hinterland Who's Who* theme music]

The common prairie dog can be seen all over North American and are common in the Canadian Prairies. Usually residing in groups, prairie dogs are highly skittish and readily flee from danger. If captured by a predator, the leader of the prairie dog family has been known to warn others by using its distinctive call, which resembles the singing of Freddie Mercury.

For more information on prairie dogs, why not contact the Canadian Wildlife Service in Ottawa?

[Hinterland Who's Who closing theme music]

* If you don't know what the heck a Hinterland WHo's Who is, then you are definitely *not* a Canadian (or at least, not one that has watched TV in the 1980s). A Canadian institution prime for parody, and its distinctive flute theme music is almost as recognizable to the average Canadian as the (now former :( ) Hockey Night In Canada theme song. For more information on Hinterland Who's Who, why not contact the Internet?

Laughing Squirrel Bites The Dust was a little too long to gain much traction as an Internet meme, but it had me giggling the whole way through.
