Fluxx Puzzle answer Yesterday, I posted a puzzle, basically involving trying to get ten cards into your hand as quick as possible in a standard game of Fluxx. I also crossposted it to the Fluxx discussion email list. A few people on the list and here on LJ posted their answers. ( My solution, which uses a deck stacked with 7 specific cards. )However, a better solution than mine was posted on the mailing list by one Andrew Plotkin: ( Plotkin's solution, which stacks the deck with only 5 cards )Nicely done, Plotkin! (With a name like that, shouldn't he be playing chess? I mean, it's such a chessmastery name. As in, "Plotkin's opening", or "The Plotkin Gambit".) ( And Plotkin's prize is... ) Current Mood: impressedCurrent Music: Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok (5 persons said stuff | say some stuff wydoncha) | | 6:22p |
TX: the dream version Last night I had a dream that I was trying to get to some town in Texas, possibly Abilene or Wichita Falls, and I stopped at a hotel in another town on the way. Suddenly I realized I couldn't remember the name of the town I was in, or what road to take to get to my destination. But then I looked at my map and it all came back to me: Ah yes, I was in Heuer (pronounced "HOY-er")! Good ol' Heuer, TX. And all I had to do was get on Interstate 51. I also noticed a huge crescent-shaped lake about the size of Lake Michigan, cutting a giant swath through the middle of Texas. Had that always been there? Then I realized, oh yeah, of course it had.
